  • Pre-operative Instructions
  • Post-operative Instructions
  • Stop wearing contact lenses!

    !

    - Soft lenses (including toric): Stop at least 7 days before surgery
    - Hard lenses: Stop at least 14 days before surgery
    - Ortho-K (overnight) lenses: Stop at least 1 month before surgery

  • Bring sunglasses on the day of surgery!

    !

Your eyes will be very sensitive to UV light after the procedure, so it's best to bring sunglasses in advance.

  • Use public transportation or bring a guardian!

    !

You won’t be able to drive after surgery.
Please come with a guardian or use public transportation.

  • Avoid perm or hair dye within 3 days before surgery.

    !

Lasers are sensitive to strong scents, so do not wear perfume on the day of surgery.

  • Do not shower on the day of surgery.

    !

You may shower starting the day after your first post-op checkup.
Avoid BB cream and sunscreen on the day of surgery.

  • Avoid drinking alcohol before surgery.

    !

Please do not drink alcohol the day before surgery to ensure your body is in good condition.

  • I can't focus when I try to read or see things up close!

    A

You may temporarily experience discomfort when doing close-up tasks after surgery. This is because your eyes now require more natural focusing effort than when you wore glasses before. This kind of discomfort usually improves within a month.

  • My eyes feel dazzled, and I see halos or glare!

    A

Lights may look blurry or like there's a haze around them, but this usually improves over time. It's a natural process, so there's no need to worry. (Nighttime glare or halos typically get better within 1-3 months, but depending on the individual, it may take 6-12 months to fully adjust.)

  • Can I read or use a computer from today?

    A

Reading or watching TV is okay from today, but it may worsen dryness. When using a computer, take a 10-minute break for every 50 minutes of use, and use artificial tears about once an hour. When looking at a monitor, blink intentionally to help spread your tear film evenly across your eyes. Avoid excessive reading, smartphone use, and TV watching during the first few days after surgery.

  • Do I have to wear sunglasses?

    A

With SMILE or LASIK surgery, you don't need to worry about corneal haze caused by UV rays like with PRK, so wearing sunglasses is not absolutely necessary.

  • My eyes feel stinging or uncomfortable when I use eye drops or artificial tears!

    A

You may temporarily feel discomfort due to dryness or sensitivity in the eye area. Most cases improve with rest and the use of artificial tears. If the eye surface is dry and unprotected, external irritation may cause temporary microscopic damage to the cornea, resulting in stinging or discomfort.
